Bella is a PhD student in the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program at the University of New Mexico (UNM). Bella is currently working on developing new therapeutic options for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD), targeting different compounds such as oxycodone, fentanyl, and heroin.
As an undergraduate, Bella worked in the laboratory of Dr. Andy Hu at UNM investigating pathways of regulated cell death. Bella also participated in the Amgen Scholars Program at Johns Hopkins University, studying miRNAs in the laboratory of Dr. John Kim.
